How disappointing: a much trumpeted upgrade to Apple TV came out today, but unfortunately, even after the upgrade, Apple TV still can not play a continuous sequence of music videos. After a music video ends, you must manually select another one to play.
When something's lost, just remember that you will always find it in the last place you'll look.
The year rolled over while we were in the car coming back from dinner, a movie, and drinks with friends. We had a great time.
Each year I think that I want to track the books read, movies seen, and music heard so that at the end of the year I can look back and see what I might see. The inaugural title is Jay Lake's Mainspring which lovingly asks what if the world really was an intricate clockwork. He explores the implications in a fantastic quest to the colossal machinery spinning at the heart of the world.
We had a house full of family and friends plus cross country video chats with more family. I think everyone had a great time--I know I had fun.
For Sky, this is the year of the Transformers. He hasn't seen the movie, but has several of the books and it is a frequent topic of conversation with his friends. It's amazing how he picks up cultural memes. Thanks to DVRs, he doesn't see too many commercials so I think that the most common vectors are friends and what he sees on the bookstore shelves. Which is just fine by me.
With the addition of two sets of twins, Ella now has seven babies. Plus a Rose Petal Cottage and a new purple purse adorned with sequins and wispy fur. The end result is a new air of cultivated sophistication. While video chatting with my father last night, she had him wait while she took an imaginary call from her friend across the street.
All-in-all, a wonderful time. Now, time to clean and clean and clean...and prepare for New Year's!
w00t!
Oh...wait...
